Ojon Restorative Leave-in Treatment for Brunettes

I've never had much of a problem at all with the condition of my hair. Having never coloured it before (I'm just not brave enough!) it's never really been in too bad a condition.
Because of this, it's never had the love and attention it so rightfully deserves (sob). It gets washed and conditioned but that's about as far as it goes, so I thought it was about time it got a bit of a treat!
Cue Ojon's Restorative Leave-in Treatment for brunettes.
This product claims to "add shine and hydration to brown hair", which is just what I was after. The idea is to apply this evenly throughout damp hair before either blow-drying or leaving it to dry.
As I usually leave my hair to dry overnight I decided to stick to that same routine.
The consistency of the product seems pretty damn spot on; not too runny and not too thick, and I found it really easy to spread evenly throughout my thick hair. I even applied it through my roots (brave in hindsight!), so I was delighted (and pretty relieved) to find my roots were not left at all greasy by the morning.

I was also happy to see it was deep brown and shimmery in colour; I'm not sure why this is, but I just tend to trust hair products that little bit more if they match my hair colour...please tell me I'm not the only one?

Although my hair felt quite a bit softer once dry, I have actually seen a much bigger difference in the results after washing my hair a second time as normal without reapplying the treatment. The packaging doesn't mention a second wash being necessary, but I would recommend it as my hair felt so lovely and soft and actually looked a hell of a lot healthier and more hydrated afterwards. It felt a lot sleeker and was much more manageable, with a lot less crazy and uncooperative flyaways and a noticeable shine, even though I hadn't noticed a lack of shine beforehand.
It's actually kind of made me realise the need to thoroughly condition even 'healthy' hair!
Although I am delighted with the results I was left wondering whether the same result could have been achieved with a much cheaper product...the price tag really is pretty hefty to be quite honest.

Has anyone reviewed any similar, much cheaper leave-in hair treatments?
I purchased my Ojon Restorative Leave-in Treatment for brunettes at a reduced price from QVC where it is no longer available.
Ojon restorative treatments can be purchased from Boots here from £16 for 50ml.

Have you tried any Ojon products before?
What did you think?

Enrapture Encode Totem Styler

The amount of curling tongs I have had over the years is ridiculous to say the least. The vast majority have been hopeless, often creating curls too tight for what I was after, then falling out not much more than an hour later. This resulted in me buying about 4 different tongs to try before finally admitting defeat and sticking to velcro rollers.

So when I was contacted asking if I would like to review the Enrapture Encode Totem Styler*, I was delighted and agreed to give them a whirl. After previously having read plenty of reviews and hearing of Enrapture's celebrity fan base, with numerous having sported the look on the red carpet, it's only fair to admit I was a wee bit excited.

On receiving the curlers, it was about 2 days or so before I could actually bring myself to remove them from the box. They were presented in an absolutely beautiful kind of royal/electric blue coloured box with a matte sheen, so difficult to describe and photograph, but I couldn't not give this a mention.

These curling tongs are completely different to any I have tried before.
There are three individual sections to the barrel itself which can each be set at different temperatures, creating different effects down the length of the curl.
This means that it can be used to create tight curls (using the setting 3-3-3), loose curls (1-1-1), or anything in between.

It's such a simple yet ingenious concept.

They heat up in no time, and are literally so easy to use.
After having a proper play around with them, I decided on 1-2-1 as my favourite setting.
I tried using different techniques on both straightened and natural hair, and as you can see from the images below this gave two completely different looks.
In fact, the outcome is never the same with these tongs, which I like!

The size of the curl will not only depend on the heat settings you select, but also on the width of each section of hair you wrap around, as well as the length of time you keep the curler in place.

My favourite look: I first straightened my hair, then curled the ends using the 1-2-1 heat setting, which created this nice relaxed wave

Again using the 1-2-1 setting, this time I clipped my naturally wavy hair into sections to curl it more thoroughly (please excuse the pyjamas!)

So as you can see, you can pretty much create a ridiculous amount of different styles.

Overall I'm hooked, I'd seriously recommend these curlers! They left my hair looking and feeling really soft and shiny, and guess what...the curls actually lasted! (With a lot of hairspray I might add, I haven't been brave enough to go without yet...)

The Enrapture Encode Totem Styler retails for £74.99 and can be purchased from various retailers, however Boots currently have a fantastic offer on: if you purchase the styler online here and enter the code 'TOTEM' at the checkout, you can get them for a mere £29.99!!

So if these take your fancy, now is definitely the time to invest. I've never seen them sold at such huge discount, plus they come with a three year guarantee! I'm not sure how long the offer is running for, so as a word of warning I would be snappy!

Let me know if you decide to get some!

Guest Post | Lee Stafford Products

Today I have another guest post for you from the gorgeous Becky over at The Wonders of Wardrobes, enjoy!

There are two things that really, really get me down about my hair. 1) It's nowhere near as thick as I would like it to be and 2) even though I have fine hair, it takes me ages to dry in the morning!

So when Lee Stafford products were on the amazing deal of 3 for £12 at Boots, I got the ‘miracle growth hair treatment’ and ‘blow dry your hair faster spray’. The third one was a present for someone. Overall I saved £10.99 which is a right bargain!

Although my hair grows super quickly, meaning I have loads of baby hair - it lacks the volume that I want. After using the miracle growth, my hair felt amazingly soft and already thicker. That was only after two uses, so I can only imagine that after time my hair will reach the thickness that I want to achieve.
I'm not sure what it's like for everyone else but my hair takes an ungodly amount of time to dry! It takes up so much of my time in the morning that I find myself running for the bus so I'm not late for work! This blow dry spray didn't quite live up to my expectations. I don't think it took any time off my hair drying and it just made my hair smell like chemicals all day. This made me super sad. Here I thought I had found the answer to my problems and unfortunately I hadn't. It may work better for others but personally, my hair didn't take to it!

Keep your eye out on the offers in Boots! Sometimes you can save yourself a lot of money which equals very happy bloggers.

Thank you so much again Becky for guest posting for me! Personally I've never tried Lee Stafford products but would definitely be willing to try them next time they are on 3 for 2!
